Authorities were called to a structure fire in the city of Adrian at 4:17 a.m. Wednesday morning. Streets surrounding the structure were closed off as crews fought the fire at 1132 Michigan Street. The cause of the fire was investigated by the Michigan State Police and Lenawee County Fire Investigation Teams, yielding no definite cause. Authorities were unsure if anyone was in the building at the time of the fire. The two story building, had some auto repair equipment in it from past businesses. There were no injuries as a result, and there was no immediate threat to surrounding property. It took crews roughly an hour to get the fire under control. The City of Adrian Fire Department was assisted at the scene by the City of Tecumseh, Madison, Adrian, and Raisin Township Fire Departments. Palmyra Township provided station coverage for the City of Adrian.

A second fire was called in to the Adrian Fire Department during the 5 o’clock hour on Wednesday evening in an apartment complex for a pickup truck. The blaze was extinguished within a few minutes of crews arriving. The cause of the fire was uncertain due to the extent of damages to the pickup truck, and the location of the fire. The cab and bed of the pickup took the most damage, not the engine. The fire did damage a car in the parking space next to it as well.

The third fire was reported at 4:47 a.m. Thursday morning in the City of Adrian. A home located at 720 Chestnut Street was severely damaged, with the front porch and 30 percent of the house, including the attic, being involved.  There were two adults at the property at the time of the incident, with both of them out of the house before crew arrived on scene. Between 720 Chestnut and a neighboring house, which suffered melted siding as a result of the fire, there was a power line hanging down which crews had to deal with first. The blaze was knocked down within 15 mins by local firefighters from the City of Adrian, Madison Township, and Adrian Township. At this time, the cause of the fire is undetermined, not being treated as ‘suspicious,’ and is under investigation. Crews were not sure if the home is a total loss or not as of Thursday morning.
