Clayton, MI – A fire broke out at JB’s Auto Sales in the Village of Clayton Wednesday afternoon, causing heavy damage to the building.
Fire Chief Steve Nichelson told WLEN News at the scene Wednesday afternoon that firefighters from multiple area departments responded, including: Clayton and Addison Village, Hudson and Morenci City, Madison, Wright-Waldron, Jefferson, and Cambridge Townships.
They were called to the fire at the business on M-34 shortly after noon. It was initially called-in as a grass fire, but by the time they reached the property, the fire was already in the building.
Chief Nichelson said that JB’s was able to get vehicles out of the garage…which is now a total loss.
