Madison Twp., MI – Several scrap vehicles caught fire at Dusseau Auto Parts located off of Treat Highway in Madison Township Thursday afternoon.

Madison Township Fire Chief Nic Wilson told WLEN News on the scene that they were dispatched at 1:05pm. Wilson said that at the time of the call for the fire at Dusseau’s, they were working on a barn fire in the Morenci area.

People working at the auto parts shop assisted fire crews by moving several vehicles off of a pile so they could be sprayed with water individually. WLEN News was told that the vehicles, located near a wooded area, were being stacked so they could be transported.

As of early Thursday afternoon, the cause of the scrap vehicle fire was unknown. Adrian City, Adrian Township, Palmyra Township, and Raisin Township fire departments assisted Madison Township at the scene.
